Black Decker PVF110 Filter PHV1810 Review

Finally changed the filter in the dust collector, several years have passed since purchase. The new filter fits perfectly and now that the filter is clean the suction has improved.

Perfect replacement. The first one that came with the vacuum lasted 4 years with heavy use. Decided it was time to replace it. It was perfect for a reasonable price.

Uh, you don't think about it, but just emptying the dust container is not enough. The reason I couldn't get more minutes of run time is because the filter needs to be removed and yes I shook it out but couldn't clean it. As soon as I replaced it with a new one, the suction power increased and it lasted longer. Great medicine!

I don't know why several reviewers said this filter didn't fit their B&D vacuum. They have a guide to take you to the right product and is identical to the original filter that came with mu vaccum. The PVF110 fits a wide range of B&D vacuums and this product number is specifically listed in the user manual that came with my vacuum.

I always use this Black and Decker filter on my BDH2000PL circular vacuum. Easy to remove and wash. In fact, I ordered 2 of these so I always have a clean one on hand and can air dry the other after washing. Never order a "universal" branded filter. Stick with this original Black and Decker replacement. And that's a great prize for Revain.

Good. I bought this filter because it claimed it was washable. It doesn't say that anywhere on the packaging. Black & Decker will contact and confirm WHAT is washable. THEN I RIGHTLY READ THE MANUAL for the BLACK+DECKER BDH2000PL MAX Lithium Pivot Vacuum Cleaner. Guess what. It says HOW to clean the filter. Good. I like to always have one ready while I clean the other filter. so now i'm ready

Two points: This PVF110 has the same "shape", but the difference is that it can be washed; the one that came with my pivot wasn't. An external garden hose with a soft spray cleans this filter very well as it requires some water pressure (bigger than my sink) to "now" push the dirt out of the filter. outer surface of the folds. These filters are effective, allowing you to use your B&D vacuum for almost any small mess. They are easy to install. The only drawback is the difficult cleaning. You can use them for a long time if you need to clean them. If you only have one, this can be impractical. Proper cleaning means taking it apart (very easy, no screws) and removing the parts from the ribs of the filter. Then you wash it in warm soapy water and let it dry. It can take 24-36 hours, which is a penalty for missing two.

Score changed from 2 to 5 :) The problem wasn't with the filter but with the pre-filter (the bottom gasket was too dusty to hold securely). I just sent one of these back from another seller hoping it was a fluke. Either I'm missing something or they just don't work with the BDH2000. Appears identical to the original and fits, but rotating, opening and closing the suction nozzle several times causes the filter (plastic pre-filter cup) to come loose.
