Since 2022, I have put at least 15 such disks on computers and I don’t remember a single problem with them, which can’t be said about the pop barracuda. I don't know what needs to be done to, as they wrote here, "kill him in 2 days." Although as an option just got married. At the time of writing this review, I take two more of these discs)))

For the money this is completely Western Digital. I built a new system from scratch and chose WD hard drive storage. It's always been like this for me and since I switched to WD I've never lost a single block of data. When I made the switch, there were many hard drive brand names, almost all of which have disappeared. The fact that WD has persevered and not failed with the rest is because they are technologically superior to even most of what is left today.

No Manufacturer Warranty. Avoid if you want guarantees. New Western Digital drives come with 1-2 years for the Blue model.

I installed it as an OS drive on my home network server. So far no problems. Installation was easy. It works 24/7 here, so I'm hoping for longevity. Small capacity by today's standards, but plenty of room for OS and apps if you have additional drives. Profitable price!

How lucky. If you have some experience with a computer this is easy, it comes with no instructions. So if you've never made an exchange before, I wish you the best of luck. For me it was very easy and took very little time. The price is fantastic.

The drive arrived and wasn't formatted or working as you would expect from a Western Digital hard drive. Considering that the drive did NOT come in Western Digital OEM packaging and the packaging it was placed in was loose and lacked foam to protect against shock, the unit was likely damaged during shipping by FBA .

WD 500GB hard drive works fine on my wife's computer. Faster and quieter than an old hard drive. I run an SSD for downloads/apps and an HDD for data storage. No complaints about this drive, it does what it's supposed to. This drive might be small for some people, but for me and my wife it's perfect, especially when used as a second drive!

Plugged in while you work. But to my surprise, the Blancco Disk Eraser screen appeared when I turned on the computer before installing Windows for the first time. Next on the screen it identified the PC as a Dell Optiplex (my machine is an HP Pavilion). My only guess is that this was installed once in the Optiplex and then deleted. As I paid for a new disc and not to return another I was disappointed.
