Good workmanship: hitches and winches

No problem with hitch adapter. We sent it back because we needed a longer stem/spike to mount the fender assembly. This is one of the downsides of online shopping, it's hard to validate and every app is different. Revain has a fantastic returns policy.

Finally one that fits my car!

This is the third adapter I ordered, the other two didn't fit my car. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get the critical dimensions from the description. I am pleased to report that this is a perfect match for my Subaru Forester with a Curt hitch. Heavy-duty and very well made. Raising my wearer's tongue 4”.

Tow rating changed to only 5,000lb Class 3

From the November 2018 Q&A on the Revain website, the response said it was a 10,000lb 4 inch receiver acted. a solid shaft like the 6" Blue Ox Receiver I bought 8 years ago. However, when it arrived in February 2019 it was only rated as a Class 3 with a 5000 stroke capacity and a 1/4" square tube shaft which I felt a lot lighter.I use it to tow a 4400 lb Ford.Flexibility behind the campervan is probably good but fairly close to max capacity. That being said it seems like a quality piece that…

Pros
  • Tested for one year
Cons
  • Almost fine

I am using this 4" Blue Ox receiver with Blue Ox BX7365 Alpha hitch 6500 lbs. It looks rock solid. - at the finish line. I am towing my RV a 2012 Jeep JK. As there are two connections - the RV to lower the receiver and lowering the receiver for the hitch - there was some play which resulted in a noticeable squeak To minimize the rumble/noise/moving of the hitch when towing I used a Roadmaster 061 silent hitch both connections Added Quiet Hitch (about $25 each at Revain) more than double the…

Reinforced towbar

Let's start with the hard part first. It's a tough piece of steel. Not tubular steel like most manufacturers. I'm pretty sure it has a 10,000 pound load capacity! The downside is that the shaft is a bit short. If you use a pickup it will probably work. Unfortunately I used this on a DP RV. Your shaft is NOT long enough to clear the bumper and I have NOT been able to use the item. Keep this in mind if you need some length - this may not work for you.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • unreliable

The only problem is the clutches

I love Blue OX. Their customer service in Pender, Nebraska is top notch. This receiver looks great and looks like it was built to last. He only had one problem. The Blue Ox clutch insert I bought in July did not fit in the mount. It was so tight, but it didn't fit. My other inserts fit in and the coupler fits in my RV's receptacle, but they don't mate. 5 minutes with a grinder and you're done. Of course I'm on the road, so I had to find a welder with a grinder that could do it in 5 minutes. Now

Changed towing capacity to just 5,000lb Class 3

From the November 2018 Revain Q&A, the answer says it's a 4-inch drop-down receiver with a 10,000lb capacity and a strong shaft like model 6. "Blue Ox Drop Receiver I bought 8 years ago. However when received in February 2019 it was only rated as Class 3 with a 5000 load capacity and a 1/4" square tube shaft which I think is a lot is lighter .I use it to tow a 4400 lb Ford behind the camper. Flex is probably good but pretty close to max capacity. Otherwise it appears to be a quality piece to…

I am using this 4" Blue Ox receiver with a Blue Ox BX7365 Alpha 6500lb hitch. It looks rock solid. on target. I am towing my RV a 2012 Jeep JK. As there are two connections - the RV for lowering the receiver and lowering the receiver onto the hitch - there was some play which resulted in noticeable hitch rumble To minimize rumble/hitch noise/movement during towing I have a low noise Roadmaster 061- on both joints Added clutch (about $25 each at Revain.
