Do-it-yourself repairs really work with it!

I used a pair of 8" to repair a pair of subwoofer speakers that were over 20 years old. They fit together perfectly and I just glued them with regular wood glue. First I put the edge behind the cone where it is naturally centered and glued the outside edge. Once the glue is dry you can either glue the inside edge behind the cone like I did originally, or carefully pull the edge out from the outside of the cone and glue it in place. Ideal solution for repairing old speakers

Vintage 1980's Realistic speakers were broken and stored for 20 years. Purchased shock absorbers arrived today. I measured the speaker diameter and ordered the next size LARGE. I cut out a larger rubber damper and overlap it. Use Weldwood Contact Adhesive applied to the speaker cone, rubber bumper edges and speaker frame. You must use the contact cement in a ventilated area (outdoors or in a garage). I used my 3M respirator. Allow the contact putty to dry for 15 minutes (less than 1 hour) and…
