poor quality - coffee, tea and espresso

I decided to buy it even after reading many reviews that the glass is very thin and breaks easily. I tried because I knew I would be careful with him. But it turns out it's not just the glass, the plastic part is very cheaply made too. The part is already broken. Milk also germinates because the lid is not tight enough, it slips. It seems that no matter how careful you are, something still goes wrong. Many had to look for replacements. I would advise this brand to at least be transparent about…

Unacceptable item

My daughter bought this milk frother for me as a gift. The carafe cracked in the dishwasher shortly after receiving it. I didn't want my daughter to be offended so I tried to order a replacement carafe. A replacement carafe was not available so I ordered a new frother to get a handle carafe. The new carafe cracked while washing, so I ordered it again. The second replacement came with a crack. I use Waterford crystal and a 100 year old Meissen porcelain set and wash without breaking, so I can…

Good, but not recommended

When our cappuccinatore broke, we bought different ones to try it out. It's an interesting concept, it's like a French press but for milk. The difference between this machine and the French Press is that the FP has a mesh screen, and that is a thin fabric. It feels like something could break easily and quickly. I use soy milk, my partner uses whipped cream. It takes cream better than my plant milk. You need to fill it almost to the fill line or you won't have any foam. I've found that I'm…

If you love cappuccino, this gadget will change your life!

Never mind. Add cold milk just below the fill line, pump quickly 50-60 times (pump at full power, as much air as possible into the milk if desired), remove pump unit, glass out the microwave milk container for a minute on high (make sure does not overflow in the microwave), the foam will thicken on standing. Froth up your favorite espresso, or if you want to keep it simple, use Starbucks VIA. I use 1/3 to 1/2 packet of VIA per 2-4 ounces of boiling water. Also, I use 2% UHT milk as I've found…

Electric cappuccinatore not needed

I don't have the space or money for a fancy cappuccinatore. I have a Keurig and a French Press, but I love frothy lattes. So I researched all types of milk frothers. I read a review where said foam evens out quicker with an electric frother than a manual one. It sold me and this blower did not disappoint. It frothed 1/4 cup of milk in about 12 pumps. I thought it would take four times as long. Wonderful! I heated whole milk in a glass bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds before pumping. Next I…

too high for microwave, not suitable for small amounts of milk

Made a cappuccino in the morning. I used to use an old French plunger in a narrower container. It worked really well but I thought I should try this product as it was specifically designed for this purpose. First, it's too big to fit in my microwave. So now I have to color another container to warm up the milk before pouring it onto this device. In addition, if you only prepare a cappuccino, then this appliance has too large a diameter for such a small amount of milk. Because the milk on the…

Here it is: Kitchen and Dining Room

Here it is. Unfortunately I'm a bit design obsessed and tried four different hand foamers before settling on Bodum. Each of the other designs lacked one or more of the qualities that Bodum has in abundance. I had one from Norpro with a plastic ring on the bottom and it broke after just a few uses. I'm not the elephant in the china shop either, the ring was junk. I received one of these foam sticks and immediately realized it was also poorly made, requires batteries, very fragile, blah blah blah

Great for lattes at home! ***UPDATED 7/26/20***

7/6/20 ***UPDATE ***Almost a year later and the glass just broke :( and it started leaking from the bottom edge. Just before this happened I tipped it on its side against the counter so I guess it chipped a bit at that point. So the jar is a little flimsy but it froths like nothing else. I even got an electric hand blender that came with a frothing attachment and barely works compared to this hand held one. I'm just hoping to order another glass! Otherwise I might have to improvise with a…

Take the plunge (r)!

Folks, the engineering design of this product's frothing mechanism sets it apart from all others: the plunger uses a strainer (like a sieve) instead of a spiral whisk to aerate the milk. (Roger that)? This design - and only this design - allows Bodum to always work, no matter what dairy product (dairy-based or plant-based) you choose. As an architect I know that it is very difficult to refute the results of a design. Research. (And, God knows, I've tried). So it doesn't matter if you decide to…
