Here it is. Unfortunately I'm a bit design obsessed and tried four different hand foamers before settling on Bodum. Each of the other designs lacked one or more of the qualities that Bodum has in abundance. I had one from Norpro with a plastic ring on the bottom and it broke after just a few uses. I'm not the elephant in the china shop either, the ring was junk. I received one of these foam sticks and immediately realized it was also poorly made, requires batteries, very fragile, blah blah blah - not for me. I had high hopes for the Vktech Stainless Steel Foamer, but found the impossibility to microwave it to be more inconvenient than I expected. Also, when frothing, you don't see what's going on inside, so you have to constantly search for (and spill) the milk. I wanted it to be right because it was so difficult, but those qualities ruled it out. In the end I chose Bodum and was very satisfied. Can I use the microwave? Check. Can I see my milk while frothing? Check. Does it really lather up well? Oh yes, try it. The thing does a great job and is easy. The spatula is plastic on the inside, but I can't imagine replacing it for long. Tip: When frothing with this spatula, be sure to "tap" the top of the milk with the spatula, forcing air into the milk, rather than leaving it in the milk and just whisking. Get it right and you'll get as good a propellant as you could hope for.
