upset. for oral care

As a dental hygienist, I had high hopes for this toothpaste! I love the science behind the product and the goal of enamel remineralization with nanohydroxyapatite, but the toothpaste itself is boring. After using it twice a day for a month, my teeth definitely built up plaque and tartar faster than any toothpaste I've used recently. Also, the ingredients didn't match my fabrics; Over time I developed rough patches on the inside of my cheeks and lips due to irritation from the product. I went…

Best alternative to traditional toothpaste

Love this toothpaste! I've been researching nanohydroxyapatite and I have to say I was impressed and also a little annoyed that it's not as commercially popular in the US. I think that's what fluoride special interest groups lobby for and get you. Anyway, it took me a while to get used to the fact that it doesn't foam like regular toothpaste, but I'm done with it now and wouldn't want it any other way. My teeth feel so clean after use; has a light, pleasant taste of mint, unobtrusive; and I…

Below average hydroxyapatite paste

My personal experience with hydroxyapatite toothpaste. I have studied them and tried them for about 3 years. I've found them to be a staple in oral care in Japan. The one I love is called CTx3 Gel. I tried this Boka Mint flavor and my teeth don't seem as clean or smooth after using it. CTx3 leaves my teeth smooth and glassy on my tongue. So for me personally this boca is of poor quality. There are fairly expensive hydroxyapatite toothpastes available from Revain, but I think CTx3 is the perfect

ideal for sensitive teeth

I have been using sensodyne toothpaste and mouthwash for many years to help my sensitive teeth. they helped a little. Then I tried this toothpaste and immediately noticed a big improvement. I will use that from now on.

The only brand I've been using for over a year.

This is my favorite toothpaste. It's not the first time I've bought it, just the first time I've bought it from Revain with free shipping. It is actually cheaper than buying from the website, which always calculates shipping costs. My dentist says my teeth look amazing every visit and I haven't had any new cavities. The taste is wonderful, but not artificial, not too spicy, not too minty. I will not be using any other brand at the moment and I have been using this brand for over a year now. I…

Was surprised how much I liked it

I don't like fluoride in my toothpaste and I recently read some research that hydroxyapatite is a good substitute for fluoride in toothpastes. After some research I decided to give Boka a try (I also checked out Risewell). Firstly, you use it a little differently than regular toothpaste, which I was a bit skeptical about, but after trying it, I found that I really like it. (It makes brushing your teeth a lot easier. You don't use water and you don't rinse your mouth out afterwards (I mean you…

No cavities! Yes, tonsil stones!

I started using this toothpaste after I had a toothache. I haven't been to the dentist in 10 years because I'm an anxious person, but after a year of toothpaste the pain is gone. I recently went to the dentist and they said my mouth is in excellent condition. I had no tooth decay, no tartar, no gingivitis. I attribute the health to this toothpaste, as well as the gum mastic and low-grain diet. Here's the only small issue I have with toothpaste that I take 100% responsibility for. I'm not used…

All other toothpastes are worse!

Anytime I travel and can't take a large tube of Boka Ela Mint with me, I enjoy my first brushing when I return home. I feel like my teeth are never completely clean when I use anything other than Boka toothpaste. I have to say that this toothpaste needs some adjustment. It doesn't foam and doesn't have the "minty-fresh" (read: astringent) feeling of standard commercial toothpastes. These are the marketing gimmicks we associate with a clean mouth and they don't really help your oral hygiene at…

TLDR: didn't work for me. Maybe this will work for you.

I was so optimistic that I really wanted to try this product. I have read so many amazing things about this mineral. And I found it particularly interesting that people in Japan have been using a product with the same mineral and amazing benefits for years. I ordered this particular product but it never arrived. (I got my money back and I appreciate it.) I decided to try this brand as it claimed to contain this particular mineral. Absolute disappointment! And I'll be specific. First of all…

An alternative to fluoride? Ingredients Notes

Nanohydroxyapatite (nHA) is a synthetic form of hydroxyapatite, which is itself a form of calcium phosphate, which makes up most of tooth material, including 97% of tooth enamel. A nanoparticle refers to the size of the tiny particles that make it up, capable of penetrating tiny holes in tooth enamel. It was developed by NASA in the 1970s. The patent was sold to a Japanese company in 1978 and has been sold in Japan for use in toothpaste since 1980. Studies show that it is comparable to fluoride
