Slightly louder than the original

If you are looking for a little louder than the original but with a deeper tone then this is definitely for you. But it's definitely quieter than the 14-inch version. Installed on this 00 3.4l.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Legacy model

Pleasant harsh noise but not unpleasant

Sounds fantastic on my 2002 Toyota 4Runner 3.4L V6. A nice low growl, slightly louder than the original but without the awkward cabin hum resonance that louder mufflers have at certain speeds.

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • Protection

Perfect sound for V6 4Runner/Tacoma

Perfect for my 99 4Runner V6. Sounds good. There is almost no it on the track, the sound is good. It's a soft to moderate sound, but it's perfect for the Toyota 3.4L! The 2.25" tailpipe fits almost perfectly into the factory metric pipe.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Worth the money for parts

Installed on my 2003 Toyota Tacoma 4WD pickup truck with extra cab and 3.4 liter engine. I was looking for a decent sound but not too loud and this was perfect. after adding the cold air intake kit. Used original front muffler pipe cut from OEM exhaust and AP exhaust with stainless steel clamps. Installs in less than 30 minutes. Definitely recommend!

3rd gen 4runner 3.4L uses 40665 Borla

Got this for my 2000 4runner 3.4L and it's great. The only thing that annoyed me a little was realizing that our standard exhaust system is 2.5" in diameter, not 2.25" like this muffler. I still got it installed fine with a few adapters, but it would have been a lot easier with a 40665 Borla. sounds great, more ground clearance, weight savings. Can't complain for the $130 grand total, it's definitely better than spending $6-800 on a cat-back exhaust system.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs

Great for 3rd Gen 4Runner

Off JLA? Muffler (can't remember which one) to go with it on my 3.4L 3rd Gen 4Runner tank. Sounds great, nice deep sound, but not too loud. The sound quality is way better than I expected to be honest. I just wanted something quieter than what I had. The traffic lights in the car are so quiet and steady that sometimes it seems like my truck has stopped for a second. But when you push it, you get average sound that's not uncomfortably loud or cheap.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires Socket
