I am home manager, female, 60+. Some of my smaller projects require cutting wood. Nothing fancy, just cut out a 2x4, 1x8 piece of plywood. I bought a small circular saw but I find it quite intimidating and my cuts are always a little off. Then I discovered that the same cuts could also be made with a jigsaw - with the right saw blade and a little patience. That's the right blade. I may never use that big old circular saw again.

I only used it once. I had a bit of an issue getting my saw to engage, but this is an entry-level saw so that could be part of the problem as well. I was hoping to use it for a more precise cut, but it turned out to be too flexible along the length of the blade for that purpose. It is sharper and more powerful than comparable blades from other manufacturers. I will buy this brand in the future.

In fact they are very good for trimming branches down to about 3 1/2 inches. I have an old Black and Decker PS 12 lithium cordless saw and it works great. The original blades, called Pirhana blades, are only available through Buckeye Tool Supply. This company is unreliable as they sent me two items marked as blades which were some kind of bracket. Customer service is a joke. So I just ate $15.95 for two blades and vowed never to handle it again. To be fair, these pirhana blades were ordered…

I needed to cut some pressure treated 4x4 pine poles just off the floor so the only option was a jigsaw. Since none of my blades were long enough to make this cut I ordered them after reading the positive reviews. Although they got the job done (cutting four posts in about half an hour), the blades didn't go through the cut very well. Sometimes it cut as usual, but other times I had to apply quite a bit of pressure and rock the blade back and forth to get through the wood. When it was hard…
