My friends had the original SoundLink mini and it was phenomenal. So I figured I'd have to get one. However, this new one sounds terrible! The mids have good depth and clarity, but bass is sorely lacking, and I continue to hear crackling and distortion at higher frequencies. Sound is exactly what you'd expect from Bose, no surprise. This speaker is also a reservoir so don't worry about accidental drops because it will just wipe them off, no problem. On the downside, the software inside is pretty finicky. The biggest problems with Bluetooth usually appear within the first few minutes of pairing.
