You can visit any website that talks about hazardous plastics and they all advise avoiding plastic number 7 altogether. I wish I knew the Chinese are forcing toxic plastics on American consumers before they buy that cancer-stricken water bottle.

I really liked this bottle at first, but after a dozen uses it's leaking. You can twist the snot out of the lid and it will still leak if you drink from it or carry it horizontally. There's nothing like water on your shirt when you're drinking, now it's useless. DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY!

I bought this jug thinking I was getting a non-toxic water container. It wasn't until much later that I saw that this plastic was #7, a very toxic plastic and not even safe for cold water. This bottle was expensive and was brought from China. This is a betrayal, as #7 is BPA-free and highly toxic, which leachates into drinking water.

I was looking for a simple bottle that holds 64 ounces of water - no motivational labels on the side, no risk of spills, easy to clean. This bottle so far (I've had it for a week) does all of those things well. When it arrived it smelled funny inside, but I soaked it in vinegar water overnight and that seemed to help.
