Stuck membrane problems.

I've been using this for a year (with my D700 and D800) and have been really impressed with the image quality when taking astro photos (long exposure landscapes with a Milky Way in the background). The f/1.4 aperture is great for this purpose. However, lately I've been having issues with the aperture not fully closing or getting stuck when using apertures other than f/1.4. This led to exposure problems with my pictures. I'll see if I can use the aperture ring to set the aperture manually, so…

Pros
  • Minimum focus distance 7 inches
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

This is a great lens. It's spicy. It is well built and is offered at a very reasonable price. It's sort of a culture shock. It's completely manual. I haven't shot like that in a long time. My 5W3 was stunned when I put it on. No AF. No AE. I don't know what condition the lens was in. For Canon photographers, I recommend Av (Aperture) mode for Live View focusing. The tiny instruction page, loosely translated from Korean, seemed to mention it. Don't panic if you find yourself deep in the "analog"

Pros
  • High refractive index low dispersion laminated optical glass to reduce flare
Cons
  • Some little things

Great lens for APS-C, MFT and full frame

NOTE: This applies to Rokinon, Vivitar, ProOptic, Bower, Samyang and other versions of this lens (developed by Samyang ) Few 24mm FF lenses have this aperture. The ones that are aren't usually that cheap. $500 for a good fast lens is a low price. it's surprising, but it's actually pretty widely usable. I didn't have any major issues with glare or low contrast. Use the supplied lens hood. The aperture moves well, as does the focus. Smooth, no stickiness. Even though it's F1.4, it's easy to…

Pros
  • Groups/piece: 12/13
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
