Perfect fit, easy installation

After too many bumps in the head with the trunk lid I pulled the trigger on a pair of Boxi trunk dampers. Installation took less than 15 minutes and now I can safely keep my trunk open. Good quality product, nice finish and solid construction.

Cons
  • So far so good

GOOD PRICE: Lift Stands

I bought these as a rear lift stand for a 2000 Boxster. Installed easily, no problem. They appear to be well made and no leaks so we'll see how long they last. The last ones I bought (another brand) lasted about 18 months. So far I can recommend this brand.

Cons
  • Unfashionable

Perfect fit, easy installation.

Perfect fit. Remove the old supports by sliding the clips with a small flat head screwdriver. Attach the lower connector first, then the upper connector. New ones are very easy to insert into the ball mount. I have no problem using spare parts in non-critical applications. Use original parts for critical applications.

Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Great racks vs factory racks

Why pay more for Stabilus factory racks? They are identical in size, attachment method and design. Of course, durability will degrade over time. If the car is going to be resold or will only last 10 years versus 15 years for a Stabilus that costs at least 1x more, Boxi struts are a good choice in terms of aesthetics, performance and value.

Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Nice replacement for the original ones on my 2002 Boxster.

A big improvement over the worn ones I've used. Removing the old one and installing the new one was easier than I expected. The instructions that came with the racks weren't very good (probably general and not specific to my Boxster), but I found a few videos online that helped me. Installing the new ones was very easy and didn't require removing the clips - I just pressed them onto the balls with some pressure and they snapped straight into place. I think I used a hammer with a light tap on…

Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price

I have a 1999 Boxster. Both rear trunk lid supports had failed and were not holding the lid open. Found them at Revain but was skeptical at first (listed as good for all 1997 thru 2004 Boxster models) but ordered them anyway. They arrived on time and in good condition. Well I can tell you all that on an old Boxster this set of lift brackets is exactly the replacement part and installation was very easy (literally take the old ones out of their sockets on the lid and snap them back into the…

Cons
  • High Price

They appear to be slightly under filled with oil

Works which is quite reasonable given the reasonable price. They appear to be a little under-oiled, or maybe the spring is too strong. My Boxster's trunk now opens very quickly, then bounces and bounces a bit as it reaches the top of its travel. They also make a little noise as liquid passes the piston. Again, maybe this is a sign of low oil? They're definitely not as luxurious as the standard OEM parts, but then again they were cheap and my trunk stays open now. They're an appropriate part if…
