A great replacement option when old valve stems are hard to find.

I have OLD New Orleans plumbing. Those things were the only things I could find in my town or anywhere else that allowed me to upgrade. Look good together. Solid feeling. Better round. As the valves are old, they are also easier to tighten in knob form as more force is generated. No leakage. Tighten the hex screws securely to prevent movement if you need to close tightly.

Pros
  • Lever handle with vise port
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

Doesn't fit tightly.: Faucet parts

Just not right for my purposes. The center piece with the Allen keys we had to make universal doesn't hold tight. After several uses, it weakens and the water does not flow or, even worse, does not turn. I had to take a screwdriver, remove the handle and pull out all the parts while the water was flowing. Luckily I still had the old pen in the drawer so I could put it back on and turn off the water. You can tighten it any way you like, but eventually it will still hang loose.

Pros
  • Fits most screw-top tub and shower faucet handles
Cons
  • Not bad

Worked on our shower handle, Pfister replacement.

I liked the universal metal bracket, it didn't match our original plastic piece that was taped to the valve so I used a knife to scrape it off. After that, the universal metal part could be installed, tightened and made to work with this product. Tried several Pfister pens with no success, but this one works and looks even better. Highly recommended if you don't know or can't find a replacement grip with precise plastic cutout for the back.

Pros
  • Chrome finish complements any bath and shower decor
Cons
  • Safety
