Works until driver explodes

Here's the deal. Is working. However, after only 6 hours of driving my kart, my drive clutch broke. The reason for this was that the tension holding the drive clutch closed vibrated despite the use of Loctite. Also, the wingman was somehow knocked out of place. It still worked, but it made quite awkward noises and vibrations. Maybe if I treated him a little better he wouldn't have these problems, but eh. It was fun, as long as it worked I'll give it to him.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I won't say anything

My brother bought a kart with a shifter that had a centrifugal clutch. It was very slow out of line. My brother-in-law and I have torque converter maps. I ordered this torque converter to install on my brother's map. It made a huge difference, his kart was actually pushing my son-in-law's kart up hills and up hills faster than he would have been going up hills before, and my brother had to let off the gas.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Not bad but...

The chain cover needs trimming as every application is slightly different.

What a difference, what a difference compared to the clutch this bike (CT200U) had. Like more traction and acceleration. Haven't done a speed test yet to find out the exact results. The hardware included was almost exactly what I needed with the exception of 1 bolt and 1 motor adapter on my bike which is not the seller's fault as I knew this before purchasing the item. A $2 adapter and some $2 screws is all I need to get this working. Definitely a must-have addition for your 6.5hp…

  • Hands-free operation

Wow! In Awe of California!

I purchased this Bravex product because of the customer service and product reviews. I wasn't disappointed! Unfortunately the product didn't fit my son's go-kart but I wanted to buy it from Bravex. They didn't have a guy for my kart, Bravex support contact Liz suggested I keep the product (WOW) and they refunded me. She explained why they don't resell used parts. I was grateful and will be using the Bravex torque converter on my next project starting in July for my grandson. They have several…

Very responsive work, big improvement over C-Clutch.

I used this T-converter when I replaced my grandson's crappy Chinese engine with a Harbor Freight Honda 212cc Predator clone. Attached before and after photos. Before perestroika I didn't even have 2 hours of work before one of my grandsons complained that something was broken or that they couldn't get this stupid thing to work. With that torque converter and a simple hand start engine, this thing runs like a top and has a lot of bottoms. Great product, easy to install. I put (2) grub screws…

Pros
  • Solid finish
Cons
  • Damaged

The best update for ct200u!

Set on a 2 year old Coleman ct200u that has had enough mileage, the rear tire is almost bare. With the stock clutch I was able to go about 23 mph (I'm 205 and my daughter is 35 so the load is about 240 pounds), up to 37 mph! I did not make any other modifications to the bike. Newer ct200u models have a 5/8 countershaft. You will need a 5/8 to 3/4 shaft adapter and an M6x50mm hex bolt from a hardware store. You'll also need to raise the motor about an inch (I used a total of 80 washers, 4 3/4x3"

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable

Drive unit fails on replacement parts

Bought this unit to use with a stock Predator engine on my kid kart. The rig was relatively easy to install, requiring some minor modifications to the mounting plate so it didn't interfere with the motor mounting plate on the kart. However, after a minimal ride over the weekend, we chewed through 2 belts. Upon inspection, it was found that the rivets holding the mainspring assembly to the outer plate were improperly set and never flattened. This popped the rivets out of the holes and the plate…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
