Food leaks from a poorly designed head.

Performance was right for our purposes. We threw it away after 2 years due to the poor design of the detachable mixing head which is not airtight and allows the material to be mixed in. After washing it, you can hear it shaking and squeezing the thick liquid inside, and there's no way of getting it out unless you try to take it apart. Who would want this substance to enter their food?

Broke after a year: hand blender

I have used a Breville hand blender to make my daughter's baby food and also smoothies. This worked fine for a year, then one day I decided to make a fruit smoothie using frozen fruit, ice and juice. I put all the ingredients in the jar, turned it on and after 10 seconds of circular motions with the blender's wand up, the wand broke inside the mechanism. I have circled the areas in the photo. I have yet to resolve the issue with Breville.

From Joy to Disappointment

I have to change my rating to reflect my extreme disappointment. I really liked this machine which worked great for about 13 months. Then he just quit. Dead. I used it a few times a week but always followed directions and mixed in short bursts with small breaks in between. For $90, I expected at least four or five years of return on my investment. I miss it but don't have the confidence to invest in another and am suspicious of a cheaper brand when this expensive one has had such a short…

It's been a great product for three years

We bought this hand blender just over three years ago. We used it four or five times a week, mostly for smoothies. It's been a great product for three years and two months. And then. a squeak or two, then a howl, and the motor is dead now. I called Breville and we can't just buy the motor/base. We don't need the rest of the nozzles. We can buy another one, but first we will try to find a motor/base. It is also possible to get a professional quality hand blender for double the price. Robot Coupe

I don't have a leakage problem

I was concerned by a few other reviews about food/liquid spilling down the chute but didn't come across it. To prevent this, there is a rubber seal. I hope these other two users had separate cases of this. So far so good - this hand blender is spacious and powerful, and I really like how the parts can be stacked together for storage. I had really bad luck trying to cut chocolate into a mini chopper. It did not work. I think it doesn't work very well for more complex topics. But it should be…

I'm not thrilled - don't buy it for the whisk/whisker attachment!

I bought this unit 5 years ago and from the start I was never impressed. Power is very low when used with the whisk attachment; Even at top speed it only does a decent amount of mixing work - fine for making whipped cream, but no more. In fact, the whisk attachment is so cheaply made it looks like it's built to last, which happened to me. After maybe 20 uses of the whisk in 5 years, the whisk shaft shattered the cheap plastic base that was installed inside the shaft holder, rendering it…

Pleasantly surprised

I ordered a Breville BXB51XL hand blender mainly to make smoothies for breakfast after a tedious time and work disassembling and cleaning the stationary blender after each use. The blender is fast and powerful. Once you learn how to raise and lower the blender in your mixing bowl, you can quickly turn ice cream, fruit, and yogurt into smoothies. I was also blown away by how clean the blender runs with no splatters or splatters due to the design of the blades and body. Acts as an anti-slip pad…
