Pretty small for the price

So first less than I expected for the 9.00 train. I figured it would be something significant, if not big. But it's a little bigger than a matchstick machine. Ooooh, this is a birthday present for my railroad enthusiast nephew so I'll have to find something else as it's quite a sad toy to go with his railroad book. A little disappointed. But the positive side is that it has great details and colors.

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Requires socket

Great little locomotive!

This one passed the grandchild test! It has moving parts which is fun. Like all Brio products we've used, it's well made and appealing for a kid who loves all things trains. Played with him twice, everything is intact. I was a little shocked after reading the review that said the parts were broken off, but so far so good. It has a very durable feel and is a beautiful addition to our ever-growing Brio collection.

Pros
  • Super for me
Cons
  • Not bad

Much better than Brio when I was little

I grew up with Brio trains and wanted to share them with my son. He likes steam locomotives, but not the more modern diesel-electric cars. I bought it for him and he just loves it. The way the wheels move the piston back and forth is both simple and ingenious, and has (so far) withstood all the abuse a toddler can and will throw at their favorite toy, including some descents on our wooden ladder. I have read other reviews of sticking pistons but this has never happened to us and we have beenโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Newer model could be chosen

This is my 22 month old baby's favorite toy. He plays with him on and off.

This is my 23 month old's favorite toy of all his many Brio, Thomas, Melissa and Doug trains. He plays with it on and next to his railway table. He carries it with him everywhere, even in the bath and on car rides. My son has SPD and this toy provides great sensory visual input and also encourages functional play. I like this train and our Brio high-velocity missile much more than our Melissa and Doug trains. After a few months of use, the only visible signs of wear are a few tiny scratches onโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • No gun

Very nice battery free train with moving plunger arm (which can get stuck)

Brio's trains are my son's favorites (and let me tell you he's a real railroad connoisseur)! This is I think his favorite non-battery model because it has a small moving wheel piston. At the same time, what he loves about it is also what he hates about it. He is autistic and easily frustrated when parts get stuck or not working properly, and sometimes the little piston on the wheels gets stuck and won't move smoothly, or the wheels won't turn smoothly. I fixed this by adding a small amount ofโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Minor issues
