They work well AFTER you've gotten an o-ring to seal them. After seeing the problem others are having with water leaking AROUND the filter instead of going through it and making sure it was installed properly, I put a thin rubber O-ring (most hardware stores sell these) on put the filter that can be reused (I had an o-ring for 7 filters).
