Black Rear View Reversing Camera for Volkswagen - BW Review

This was not made for the jetta mk iv I have but it was easy to change the deck cover to make it work. I would say that the quality of the camera is really not very good.

I have now bought two of these cameras. First, the fit is great and looks OEM. The camera works fine, but after a few months the camera just stopped working. After the first one happened I ordered a second one hoping I just got a bad block but after a few months the second one broke too. Do not buy.

I had this camera with the eonon sat nav it worked for a few months then I had no idea what happened so went to a car service and checked the Camera didn't work. I still have it, don't want to buy another one that will last a few months. Very upset. I give 2 stars for the fit, it fits the VW Jetta MK5 very well.

I installed this on a 2010 VW Jetta and it is NOT a drop in part. I had to modify the (plastic) bracket in the trunk lid because that part is too deep. The hole in the trunk is the right size so you don't have to cut any metal. Don't buy this if you don't know how to use a dremel and can't solder the connections you need to cut. The power supply is a bit strange. I tried using the reverse light for power and that didn't work (maybe my machine uses PWM for the light). I turned the stereo back on

This camera has excellent quality in daylight. It also has very impressive night vision. As other reviewers point out, this isn't an easy setup. Installed on Jetta 2010 (MK5 2005-2011). Overview: Installed on my 2006 Jetta along with an aftermarket head unit. Instead of running the power cord the full length of the car, I connected it to a Sirius tuner in the trunk (I don't use it anyway). This activates the camera every time the key is turned on, and the CAN bus in the car triggers the head unit to switch inputs.
