According to the description, it is suitable for children under 13 years of age. This can not be true. If your child is over 8 years old, I would choose the adult size.

Bought for my almost 7 year old daughter who keeps losing her big bobble hat. It's quite tight around her head but elastic enough and fits well. It's not too deep and not too shallow, seems to cover the head and ears well. She is fairly average height, both body and head. In comparison we tried it on her 4 year old sister and it seemed too deep, kept getting in her eyes. For a child in grades K-2 I would say that would be ideal.
