Economical alternative

For mounting spacers on tree tarps. Durable and inexpensive. Great alternative to some of the more expensive ones on the site. Unfortunately the original grommets were too short so I had to source the grommets locally but he did a good job with that.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • thin

Installs grommets like a ram hammer

Blown out all the eyes I tried to install (sheath made from Kydex). It didn't matter if I slowed down to try a series of smaller presses or tried to perform a fast movement. Maybe mine was just a failure. However, I had to send it back. Instead you will be using a pavilion press, it's just not worth the frustration.

  • Pleasant to use

Will not work with 1/4 " grommets

I bought this to use with an arbor press to fit Kydex 1/4" grommets. I was very surprised, but nothing I've tried works with it. You can flare out the unflared edge just enough to maybe hold up a bit, but not at all how it should be finished. To be honest I was surprised at how poorly it worked and thought I was doing something wrong so I tried other studs and different types of pressing but all with the same result.

Pros
  • handy
Cons
  • So far so good
