That works great. My only panel critic

Using this patch panel in a home network. That works great. My only criticism of the panel is the white bracket that holds the panel in place - a loss once you've connected all the wires going to the panel. My panel falls out easily. This can be remedied by pulling each pair of clips holding the plate inwards with a zip tie.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Nice panel - plan your installation

This is a great panel if you are replacing an old one or doing a new install. However, individual sockets are not removable. So if you later want to add more connectors to the block, you'll have to disassemble the entire block, which can be risky depending on how loose you were in previous installations. It will be a little tricky to connect other connectors as the block fills up as well.

Really great wall patch panel.

I often use rackmount patch panels at work. At home, my basement was a nest of Ethernet cables going to various keystones in my house. After fighting this mess for YEARS because I didn't want to install a rack mount patch panel rack in my basement, I finally saw that they make wall mount patch panels as well. It was a bit annoying that I didn't know about it beforehand, haha. Installing it in my basement was a breeze, and punching through the entire network was as easy as a rack-mount patch…

Nice home patch panel

Nice 12 port patch panel for my home. I didn't expect to be able to populate this, but I actually occupied 9 out of 12 ports. I don't think it can go over 12 so it should be fine for most average homes. Of course, those with more serious networks and cable runs will likely have a rack with a larger patch panel. In homes without network racks, 12 will probably do the trick. I'm very impressed with the build quality. It's plastic, but the tolerances are pretty tight and all the connections are…

Well built panel for computer accessories and peripherals

I bought this for a small home network and it worked exactly as expected. I've looked at a few other cheaper models but some buyers have complained of tight cable routing behind the panel, I don't see that with this model. The panel itself is very solid, with ports well-placed on both the front and back. It dangles a bit in the plastic mount but no more than I expected, it won't go anywhere once it snaps into place. Every connection worked the first time, no problem. A great tip I read in one…

Economy Home Patch Panel

I had a 24 port rack mount patch panel at my old wired location. I really wanted to get rid of him as he was in a hard to reach place. I was hesitant about using a 1U rack mount wall mount adapter or buying one. Having filled most of the patch panel, I'm glad I went in this direction. This is a very good budget option for homeowners to install structured wiring. Combine this with a wall switch and you have everything you need. I'm taking off a star for not even filling it in, but there isn't…

Although it holds well to the wall it's not very strong

Works very well although you know the plastic bracket while holding it well to the wall is not very strong. It's too easy to pull the panel out of the bracket (a large bundle of wires behind the panel going into the connectors may be enough to slide the panel out of the bracket. This can be mitigated by making sure you have the Pulling cables through both ends (top and bottom if used vertically) rather than having them all come from the bottom will likely loosen it up.I found it much more…

Great patch panel! fits computer accessories and peripherals

Great patch panel, does the job at a great price. You really couldn't ask for a simpler, stronger, cuter and drier patch panel. This is backward compatible with Cat5e. In my configuration I have 7 Cat5e lines ending on the back of the patch panel, the Cat6 patch cords go to a 16 port Gigabit Netgear switch. Back then it was too expensive to run Cat6 and I hope that one day it will happen. My setup consists of a Linksys WRT1900ACS in my upstairs office which is where my cable modem comes in and…

Good business. Best in Computers & Accessories

This is a well designed patch panel. The vertical design was just what I needed for the space I had - not everyone needs a rack. The instructions are fine - they tell you how to wire it up (the colored labeling on the back works just as well), but they were sketchy if you could hit the plastic bracket. Place the bracket where you want it, then rotate the plate so the connectors are facing the wall. Snap the panel into the plastic mount and it's strong enough to use a striking tool. I see that…
