Troubleshooting

I bought a CalDigit USB-C Pro Dock and connected it to my Dell Inspiron 7000. No screen at all. I searched the internet. Some have stated that Dell doesn't support USB Type-C even though it has a connector. I haven't given up. I found a video on Youtube that talks about the difference between active adapters and passive adapters. I chose to purchase active CalDigit adapters and my HDMI monitors work great. I'm glad it worked and I can use those old Dell monitors. Cheaper than changing monitors.

Pros
  • CalDigit 1 Year Limited Warranty - US Support by Phone, Email or Chat
Cons
  • Expensive

Also works great with docking stations, but audio is interrupted

Pros: - Maintains my monitor resolution of 3340 x 1440 over HDMI even at >100Hz - Works with the Belkin Thunderbolt Dock's DisplayPort output and the monitor's HDMI inputs Cons: - HDMI audio is choppy and broken . I've verified that using a direct displayport from a docking station doesn't have this issue, and direct HDMI from a source doesn't have an issue either. Conclusion: This works great if you don't worry about the sound! Is it possible that the bandwidth required to process high…

Pros
  • Ideal for use with Thunderbolt 3 docking stations for DP to HDMI 2.0 conversion. Most Thunderbolt 3 docking stations with DisplayPort require an active adapter.
Cons
  • Some bugs

Bravo! This one works

Hi folks. I have at least three other DP (DisplayPort) to HDMI cables that I had on hand from previous experiments. This is definitely one to buy. I just unplugged my HDMI cable from the NVIDIA card, GTX 1060 Ti 6GB, plugged the adapter into one of the three available DP ports and plugged the HDMI cable into my 4K display and Wallla, picture perfect about 2 seconds. Don't mess with fakes. I can't say anything about 4:4:4 color sampling because I don't know if my graphics card supports it. If I…

Pros
  • This non-bidirectional adapter can only be used with DisplayPort on a computer. Cannot be used with devices such as game consoles or Blu-ray players.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Supports 1920x1200 when setting up Windows 10 via CRU by ToastyX

This adapter cable works perfectly. I was trying to control a 1920x1200 monitor from a ThinkPad T460 on a docking station. I've never had any luck with this after trying all the ports (Windows 10 doesn't list an option for 1920x1200). The laptop + docking station *could* drive a 4K monitor. I finally found ToastyX's free Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) online and used it to add a new resolution. After that Windows 10 > right click on desktop > display settings to set the 1920x1200 setting

Pros
  • . With this adapter you can connect your laptop or desktop to monitors or televisions with up to 4K 60 Hz (3840 x 2160 60 Hz).
Cons
  • -
