Cambro RFS6PP190 Camwear 6 Quart Container Review

love this item. I use it for sourdough and for kneading bread dough. I have two of these and they arrived quickly and were even better than I expected. Very friendly company to work with.

When trying to snap the lid open it ripped down the middle. I already had bread dough and there wasn't anything suitable for it, so I sealed the tear with tape. The lid is either defective or made of cheap material.

I bought it to make bread dough. Plastic quality and strong! It's also the brand it claims to be (I've read reviews of other containers where some say it's that brand, but people get fakes). I recommend this container!

My hand hurts when I open the lid. I have to use a towel to distribute the pressure. Closing is also difficult. I wish I hadn't bought this. I know Cambro makes other models with lids that fit better and are easier to open. I would send it back but have already used it.

I bought this to make half recipes (500g flour instead of 1kg) using Ken Forkish water salt yeast flour instead of 12 quart baths. he used for the complete recipe. At first I was worried that it was too tall and not wide enough to easily knead the dough in it, but in the end that wasn't a problem - space is plentiful.

I may have gotten a broken or weak one, but I've only used it twice for bread dough. Knead the dough in this bowl with a Danish bread whisk. Stored in the fridge and hand washed twice. I went to bake bread from the dough in the fridge, it cracked. Nothing has experienced this or any temperature shocks (extremely high temperatures, etc.). This has never happened with containers of this type. Maybe I got a defective one. Disappointing. I think I'll order Rubbermaid.

This bucket is the right size for the no knead bread dough I make. Enough space for the dough to rise. The dimensions are printed on the bucket so I can easily see the expansion and deflation. I drilled a small hole in the lid so I could seal it tight and still allow the fermentation gases to escape without the bucket bursting. It's easy to clean and its round shape makes it easy to blend ingredients, with no corners for flour to get stuck in. Fits in my fridge without taking up too much space.

I have been looking for a container with a lid, BPA FREE for a long time as many of them were not BPA FREE and most came without a lid. In fact, some lids are more expensive than containers. This is madness! I hit the jackpot when I found the Cambro RFS6PP190 Camwear 6-Quart Food Container with Lid. I love it! I can double or triple many batter recipes with just one dish instead of using two or three large bowls all over the kitchen. If you need a test container, this is for you!

I took this bath with lid to pre-proof my bread overnight before switching to a large 12kw bath for the final batter mix. Although in many cases that 6 liter tub is quite large. Large, I love that it has a lid (no more fiddling with plastic wrap) and I can tell how much the dough has risen by the markings on the side - although the 1/2 quart markings would be a welcome addition. It's not very clear - enough to see what's inside, but it's not clear. Although the clear containers contain BPA…
