We have a MaxxFan 8500 fan in our RV. I made an inner cover for it but I wasn't happy with the result. I saw this during a show and tell at a rally and decided to give it a try. All I had to do was drill out the plastic ceiling clips so I could use the original screws. The ones supplied were the same length but smaller diameter and didn't last. Once that was done, the rest was easy.

We've stuffed pillows into awesome compartments to keep the Florida heat out for a while. But one of them didn't fit well and they just didn't look good. We came across this item and bought it to try. Love it! So we bought another one. We need to look better. Since we've only had them recently, they haven't been tested in the Florida heat, but an insulating element is included.

Looks better when installed than stuffing a pillow in. They really slide in and out so they're easy to take off and it's great. The temperature difference in a hot Florida summer for a whole day without air conditioning and open windows was about 10 degrees - before installation inside it was up to 115, now it reaches a maximum of 105. Please note this will NOT work with the Fantastic Fan as the open/close handle is below the level where it is inserted and flush mounted. If I want to use this function, I can use a screwdriver and remove the open/close handle and then it will fit perfectly. I can understand that as it was designed for various vents, not just Fantastic. However, the two "level" risers don't line up properly. They are not worth it. In reviews, this product sounded like the best since slide-outs. You are not. Perhaps most of the 5 star reviews have been bought. I still had to hold the pillows because two of the three were deformed. Deformed lids allow air to escape. Cheap mounts/clamps are not as polar white as the cover.
