Bought this to use on our day hikes in Sedona and it's perfect. Not too heavy when filled with water but still leaves enough room to carry other items. There are also exterior pockets for extra water bottles if needed. Excellent quality.

I bought this for my daughter's trip to Israel. She said it was the hottest week in Israel in 15 years. She also said she couldn't have done all the hikes without the bag. She especially liked the fact that she could take her passport, sunscreen and snacks with her even when her bag was full of water.

Great color combination, very light. 2.5L water bag, sealed on/off valve. 2 large pockets plus a medium small pocket for essentials with elasticated side pockets. I can put my hydroflask inside. Camelbak did a great job with the day pack, although I find it a bit overpriced, but I enjoy using it.

I love this bag. My husband teased me when I got it, but it turned out to be so handy for camping, biking, theme parks, and even a few vacation trips around Hawaii! I took out the water bladder and used it as hand luggage for flights. The pockets are nice and deep with plenty of room for snacks, phone, extra water for my kids, keys etc. I would definitely buy them again and recommend them to many people.

So light and has enough room for all the things I need, even with a full water tank. I took it on a trip to Bali and had plenty of medicine, a change of clothes, protein bars, sunscreen, bug spray, my Kindle, my Beats headphones and my clutch bag in it for most of the trip, along with a bottle of water in each side pocket. It fits so snugly under the seat in front of me on an airplane with leg room on the sides. Very happy with this backpack! This is exactly what I was looking for.

I have a CamelBak that I have used for years but it is too heavy. I bought this and used it on 2 day hikes and it's perfect. Decent weight and enough storage space. My only negative is the bladder. Difficult to clean so I use another bladder I have and you can disconnect the water line from the main bladder for cleaning. I wish CamelBak would use this type of bubble. All in all a great backpack and a strap is fine, you don't need the one at the waist.

Excellent bag. I had a previous 2016 Daystar that I needed to replace, so I decided to try the newer version. While the Essentials bag doesn't have the smaller mesh compartments of the 2016 model, the new model expands to easily accommodate jackets and snacks and features an air channel to keep your back cool. I bought this after looking at several hydration packs as I needed one for short hikes. I've used it a few times while hiking and even as carry on on the plane and I absolutely love it. It has enough space, maybe for a sweater or light jacket and a small breakfast bag, so it's not too big.
