I bought this Canon ELPH 100 to replace my old Canon PowerShot SD750 which had the lenses cracked from heavy use and too many drops. The ELPH takes great photos, is easy to use and uses the same SD card and NB-4L battery as the SD750. I put my old camera's old battery and SD card in my new one and continued shooting without wasting a second while the new battery charged and the new SD card waited in reserve. I was looking for a camera with good image quality when I didn't have serious gear with me. It has amazing image quality (within the limits of the type) at ISO 100 or 200. Very good lens; very sharp and rich in contrast, slight barrel distortion at the wide end (24mm) of the CA minimal. When I switched to a new camera I also considered Coolpix based on the reviews but decided to pay extra and buy this ELPH knowing that I would use many features: slow motion video, tilt-shift thumbnail filter, isolated color filter and fisheye filter. Based on the Olympus C-60, the ELPH 100 HS is a huge upgrade. Developed a few technological generations ago, the C-60 did not have image stabilization, which is of great importance. This is especially noticeable when taking photos without a flash.

For several years I have been trying to replace my old Canon S50 with a more compact camera. For me, the quality of the photos indoors is the most important criterion, since most cameras (and smartphones) take great photos outdoors.
