it will be very hot! Best in Video Converters

Note that this device has no vents and the main chip gets very hot, making the whole device hot to the touch. You need a heatsink and/or fan attached to the top somehow. I used very thin Velcro strips to secure the 50mm finned heatsink to the top with a thermal pad underneath that fits nicely on top, but the bottom of the unit is still quite warm. I have ordered a 50mm USB radiator screw fan which I hope will help. You also need a 3.0 port and a very fast processor to record 1920x1080 video…

Not quite 60 fps on Accessories and Consumables

This is a really good budget capture card. This is perfect if you want to stream your DSLR/mirrorless camera or stream/record a PlayStation, XBox, Switch or your PC. I used it via USB 3.0 with my Sony a6000 mirrorless camera. However, it is NOT 60 fps. It's 30 fps twice. If you go frame by frame there are 2 repeated sets of 30 frames giving you 60 in total. I recorded the video directly with my camera and recorded the result with OBS. I noticed a white pixel-sized artifact that wasn't in the…

  • Not bad

I was happy to try this product and would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the sound quality. I've tried this on two different PC systems with two different software applications (OBS Studio, Pot Player) and both had audio issues. The audio has a noticeable pop every few seconds. It looks like the sound is cut off, but not because the volume is too high. This is also random as the audio appears in different places when I record the same segment of video. CPU usage while recording is only…

Doesn't work on Linux

This is a nice product at a good price. The description states that it works on Microsoft Windows, Mac OSX and Linux. I tested it under Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04 on three computers. Either it wasn't recognized as a USB device or it got disconnected when I tried to start capturing video. Only twice on one of the computers did it actually start capturing video, and then only when I plugged it into a USB 2.0 port and not the USB 3.0 port it was supposed to be plugged into. The problem is most likely…

Can't maintain stable connection

I've had this thing for a few days now and am constantly trying to get it to work. When I first plugged it in it seemed to work fine but there was no sound. The Windows Camera app recognized the video right away, but not the audio. I ended up downloading the suggested PotPlayer, which is actually pretty good. In it I noticed that you can change the audio source for the video stream coming from the device. I matched it with the device (FHD Capture) and the audio worked. Isch. There was a lot of…
