We installed a cardinal gate and an addition to our lake home to provide extra security so our awesome kids can't "escape" and get into the water. That works great!

I actually like this addition more than the gate itself if that makes sense. It seemed more durable and had more detailed installation instructions. I don't have much else to say about it other than that it works, is relatively affordable, and isn't difficult to install. I don't regret the purchase one bit.

This is a very nice gate, very well finished. If you purchase this gate (I recommend you do so) and plan on using it outdoors you can spray paint it with a clear coat of UV and weather resistant sealer. Mine is used on the deck to keep dogs off the door so it's outside 100% of the time. I recently noticed that the original paint starts to tarnish after about 6 months of bad weather. Otherwise no problems with these gates.

I have ordered 1 on 2 separate occasions and have returned both because they were dark brown and not caramel brown like the gate I ordered from Revain. When I installed the gate I decided a gate extension was needed. Ordered two gate extensions and returned two gate extensions as the brown gate extensions do not match the brown gates. As a result, I installed a gate but can't use it because I couldn't match the gate extension to the color of the gate.

We use this gate extender to keep our Beagle in the kennel. The protective coating appears to be powder coated and has not shown any signs of corrosion or fading for about six months. I'm sure it will take much longer. Installation was easy, but the three screws that attach the extension to the main gate were too short. Had to go to the local hardware store to buy longer stainless steel screws. Cardinal Gates should not have made such an oversight, but the supplement is of excellent…
