Excellent pads. They do exactly what they're supposed to do

Excellent toppings. Do exactly what they say you will do. Combined with 3m Perfect-it #2 machine polish on a Flex3401 DA polisher. Cut mountains to a perfect mirror image after 3 passes. The valleys are barely visible. A 2013 Ford F-150 factory black finish had approximately 90% of the orange peel removed.

Pros
  • One year probationary period
Cons
  • Reliability

Not very effective now

They were good in the early 2000's, but today they are just obsolete due to microfiber pads working faster and safer. I couldn't get rid of orange peel with these pads no matter what speed I used them on my 7424xp with the m105. I had to hand wet the sand, then with an orange pad, white and black. To be honest I didn't hold my breath when I bought it. Skip them and use microfiber pads.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Negative Gift

and not easy to clean with a brush

These things work surprisingly well. Used it to clean and mix clear coat in my admittedly very amateur paint job. It took a while with DA, but I was able to remove a lot of orange peel without doing any damage. Remember as others have said they clog up fairly quickly and are not easy to brush out. So buy a handful if you intend to work on a larger area.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

now much more reflection!

Working (with Menzerna FG400). But be careful around the edges, even with DA polisher, it can still burn the paint. Even when I tried to be careful with the A-pillars, the paint still burned through a bit. It depends on the type of color you have. With DA and Titanium White (a one step super hard paint) it takes quite a while, maybe around 30-45 minutes per square foot. So be patient and use it as a weekend project here and there. At least that's how I do it.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

Excellent color correction. nothing for amateurs.

Combined with a heavy cutting compound these pads can come very close to what can be achieved with wet sanding, so I wouldn't recommend them to anyone with little or no experience with such invasive color correction. pads Especially if you don't have a paint thickness gauge so you know how much clear coat can be removed without compromising its integrity. A cheap meter costs about $150 and is barely enough. Be prepared to pay $400-$700 for one you can depend on for sure. There are pads for less

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long lead time
