Look at the obvious first

My relatively new Chromebook (about two years old and out of warranty) has stopped working, just a blank screen. on google to see what could be wrong. After trying all the simpler solutions, which consisted of pressing different buttons that I wasn't aware of up to this point, I was almost ready to remove the back of the laptop and then disconnect and reconnect the battery - a task which I didn't expect I decided to put $12 on this charger to see if the old one broke. A third ground pin is missing on the adapter, which noticeably impairs the function of the touch panel.

I bought this as a replacement to keep my ACER Chromebook R11 handy. Unfortunately it does not have a 3 pin power supply cord/plug and unfortunately I discovered this upon receipt without looking closely at the photo. I didn't really think it would make a difference so I plugged it in and immediately noticed that it was interfering with my touchpad and it was moving very sluggishly and unpredictably, I don't know why, possibly due to stray current. If I disable it, the touchpad works fine. When

Not worth it, stopped charging a month after purchase! It seems they sent me a used cable because it hardly stays in the main part of the charger, the transition part keeps lengthening. A week ago - still works great and the price couldn't be better!

Bought for my Acer Chromebook 14 after my puppies ate my original cable. As a last resort, I bought a $50 Insignia from Best Buy while waiting for Amazon's $9.99 to arrive.
