I've been trying to give up the same blue or light green sponges sold in supermarkets for decades. It was fun, although I would have preferred fewer fiftieth versions of design themes.

They tend to smell a little less over time. Although I pop them in the microwave for a minute every few weeks. The shape is beautiful and more intuitive when rinsing most dishes.

These are the only sponges I buy. They last about 3 weeks with daily dishwashing and then another 3 weeks as a dishwashing sponge. They last 2-3 months like a bath sponge. If they smell, you can put them on the top rack of the dishwasher and they'll be fresher in an instant.
