Needs to be redesigned to allow use of large diameter cylinders.

The assembly feels very bad. The overall length is too short to allow a standard 20 pound siphon tube cylinder to fill the soda cylinder without tipping the soda cylinder to expose bore 20. We bought this to replace our worn out CO2 Dr refill kit and don't feel that it even comes close to the quality of Dr. CO2 very close. I plan to see if I can install a longer nipple between the primary valve and the fill valve, but my first thoughts were to just return it.

Seems to be working now, sticky on/off valve

Would give 5 stars but I didn't have a second to send it back as defective. The shut-off valve must have stuck, after about 6-8 attempts to fill the SodaStream bottle it turned out that there was no pressure build-up. On the last try I turned the on/off valve VERY slowly to see if I could hear anything, for some reason it worked. I have a second SodaStream CO2 that will need topping up in a couple of weeks, I guess we'll see what happens. Update: I have already filled three bottles. The on/off…

Worked for my purpose (refilling Sodastream canisters)

Does everything it's supposed to and looks durable enough to last a while. The valve between cartridge and adapter is not hermetic; ie if you screw it all the way in, gas keeps escaping. We thought this was a disadvantage, but it actually turned out to be a feature: it allows the pressure in the cartridge to equalize the pressure in the CO2 cylinder and neutralizes the valve actuation. After equalization, you can continue to inflate with full pressure. It's great: I don't have to deal with all…

Easily fills CO2 cartridges

I connected this fitting to my CO2 tank which has a stem so it can dispense liquid in an upright position. Took me a few minutes to adjust the end valve as I believe it is the regulator. First the CO2 came in too fast and the 2-way valve blocked the port. I started by turning everything off and pulling out the cartridge and reinstalling it. When all the valves were tightly closed, I opened the tank valve about 1/4 turn. Then I opened the valve closer to the tank, then gradually opened what I…

Open the main valve very slowly and just a little

Okay - I'll call these two parts the main part (one connects to the CO2 tank) and the other the SodaStream part. Make sure you connect the SodaStream part to the main part. Now connect the main body to the CO2 tank. After assembling it and connecting it to the CO2 tank, make sure the first valve (and the outlet valve) are fully closed. Make sure the screw on top of the SodaStream is wide open. Attach an empty frozen (yes, I said frozen—keep it in the freezer for a day or more) soda bottle. Now…

It works. That's great. But it's hard

Oh my god, replacing and refilling Sodastream bottles is too expensive and just not worth it. And I can charge it for $20. I have refilled 10 bottles of Sodastream so far and am still counting. As others have said, open the valve on the main tank very slowly. And I mean VERY SLOWLY. I almost gave up until I reread the reviews and tried again. "SO SLOW". I have now filled 7 CO2 bottles without any problems. As mentioned, that's true, and some of the Sodastream bottles have a tricky valve and if…
