I loved how nice it feels to be able to turn the gain up or down without having to get on the stereo and do it, and I love how it feels when I turn up the gain

I hear a horribly loud hum when this slider is set to less than 100%. If I keep the slider at 100% or don't use it at all, then the sound system is perfect. So I know it's a pen.

Agree with what was written in another review: Tremendous sensitivity at the first 1/20 turn of the knob; There is very little signal attenuation. I couldn't turn the knob with enough micro-precision to operate it reliably. In other words, squeezing the handle on the HAIR reduces the signal by about 75%. The remaining amount you can rotate affects the remaining 25% of the signal.

This pen worked great for the first few days and then started to carve out the base. My subwoofers sounded like they were about to explode. I took the RCAs out of the amp, took them off the handle and hooked them up to my stereo and the subwoofers worked like a champ. I don't know if I just received a defective pen because it worked great the first time I bought it. But now it's not. My experience with this product was not great.
