Description of Chemical Guys MIC_781_01 Waffle Microfiber

HUGE 36"x25" DRYING SURFACE: Sometimes bigger is better, and when it comes to waffle weave drying towels, that is definitely the case. These towels make drying your car, truck or SUV a snap. WAFFLES AREN'T JUST DELICIOUS: While normal microfiber towels use plush strands of microfiber to absorb water and dirt, our waffle weave towels use a special waffle groove pattern to trap and absorb water droplets. Regular towels must sometimes be buffed vigorously over the surface; our waffle weave towels can be dabbed or glided gently once to pick up any standing water. DON'T JUST BUY A TOWEL, BUY THE RIGHT TOWEL: Chemical Guys microfiber towels are made of a blend of 70% polyester and 30% polyamide. Most "cheap" towels are an 80/20 blend meaning they are not as soft and do not last as long. If you see you can buy two of another's brand towels for the price of one of ours, there's a reason for it. DON'T WORRY ABOUT LINT, STREAKS OR SCRATCHES: After you remove our product label, you don't have to worry about lint, streaks or scratches when using our towel on your vehicle. IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS: Cheap microfiber towels have hard nylon edges that scratch paint while buffing and drying. Gray Matter Waffle Weave Drying Towels feature premium silk-banding along all four edges of the softest scratch-free touch from the entire towel.

Counterfeit warning: car care

I ordered 2 of these. A good clean thick material. The other is a different color and made with less thread/cheaper fake.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • thin

One-time wash: frayed threads, crumpled cover. Looks like a cheap POS.

**I'm a Chemical Guys fan (see my other reviews) so it pains me to say this: This towel is a cheap POS. The first time I washed it I had frayed threads peeking out from under the binding. The edge is creased and creased. I didn't expect a $12 microfiber towel to look like this after a damn wash.

  • Very good value for money

Let's get back to the absorber.

Works well until it gets wet. I have a 2016 Mustang and this towel cannot fully dry my car. That's pretty bad considering how small the Mustang is. Even if you wring out a towel while driving, it won't work effectively once you're close to a car! This is my second Chemical Guys waffle pattern (I had an SUV and returned it) and I'm not impressed at all. but I think the devourer defended his title here.

Good but I need another fabric

Works almost as well as advertised. However, on a large sedan, it doesn't soak up all the water without leaving small stains. To get a really clean result I use another microfiber to pre wipe and then this one to soak up everything else. Of course with two fabrics you don't really need that huge one so I'm taking off a star because it's not clear if it would be cost effective and I'm not sure I would buy it again. What I really like more is: Zwipes Auto Microfiber Premium Plush Cloths, 16" x…

Not at all what I expected.

This product image shows a fluffy folded waffle towel. What I received was a thin rag with a low thread count. The towel I got wasn't as absorbent as the others I had. The towel was soft, but there was almost no depth in the texture of the towel - again just a thin rag. Worst of all, after just two tumbles without rinsing, the seam along the entire short edge of the towel fell apart (see attached image). Some others have mentioned getting fakes. I have no idea if that's true or not, but there's

Great Drying Sheet: Tools & Equipment

I love these drying sheets. I'm an old-school guy who's always worn traditional suede scraps - too stubborn to change them. I finally tried something different and I'm so glad I did. Very gentle on the paintwork, absorbs well, easily squeezes out excess water. I use one to do the first pass over every area I can reach (to soak up most of the water), then without moving, I rub the area again with a second one in my other hand to pull up the rest . Then just squeeze the excess water out of the…

Big towel + small car should make a great experience. It's not like this.

After reading the reviews and watching the Chemical Guys video on this towel I had HIGH expectations. Everything is OK. Mind you, I'm using this on a 2012 MINI Cooper Coupe, so we're not talking about a big car here. Pros: - soft - absorbs a lot of water in the first few passes - large size works well for bonnet, roof, trunk lid Cons: - sticks easily to trim, especially logos and model names on the trunk - really only fits a few - slides out not easy to wring out - the large size may cause it…

The best car drying towel I have ever used!

I bought the towel after seeing a video on YouTube where it was recommended for drying a freshly washed car. I wasn't expecting it to do anything extraordinary as I've never had much success with chamois or other high priced towels used to dry cars. But this one is different. It absorbs water in 1-2 passes, gives my new Acura a nice shine and is excellent in the washing machine. Another plus is that this towel is huge! This is great because it's quite difficult for little girls like me to dry…
