🍾 Cilio Stainless Steel Champagne Sealer: The Perfect Large Bottle Stopper Review

I am writing this review on behalf of my wife as I bought it for her Mimosa weekend. We watched a cooking show (it will remain untitled) and they tested different champagne bottle caps. In the end, they recommended Cilio stainless steel champagne seals. That being said, the first place I went to was Revain to see if it was available. And it was. This thing works great and keeps the champagne sparkling for over a week. We highly recommend this. :-)

I bought this in March but not much to celebrate this year. I finally dug it up, along with a bottle of Prosecco. First I used a half full bottle. The next evening the fizz was almost like a freshly opened bottle. Another time a half-filled bottle was corked for 48 hours. There was still a decent amount of fizz and the same full body flavor. If you are a champagne lover this is a must. This means that even for a non-event, you can open a bottle and not spend a single drop.

As other customers have indicated that instructions were not provided, I followed the instructions in the video on the Revain website and then followed the instructions of other customers. I was looking for a "click" to close but that didn't happen when I tried different bottle sizes. Just had a loose, barely fastened fit that came loose easily. I am returning it as unusable/defective. I really wanted it to work. Update: Revain replaced the non-working plug with no return. That's great service.

My husband has been in the hospitality industry for many years and has a great deal of experience with a variety of wine corks/tins. This particular cork is junk. It is very difficult to use with some sparkling wine bottles. (Not all sparkling wine bottles have the same design; bottles for Prosecco, Champagne, and other types and brands are slightly different sizes. My wife likes champagne and we have used vintage champagne bottle stoppers for many years and are very happy with them. After checking the rating, it seemed that Cilo would be even more convenient to use. Having used this for a few months now, I can report that it doesn't work as well as the original champagne stoppers with ridges going down the neck of the bottle.
