Fixed a few blind spots on my RV

Much cheaper than adding multiple cameras and a monitor to my RV. This lens has expanded the rear view laterally and downwards enough that I no longer have those blind spots. Clarity is very good. Hot and cold weather, driving on washboard roads and the lens hasn't moved. If something happens to what I have I will buy another one.

Works as advertised

Mount this on the rear window of a 32" class C car. With the sliders in place I have a direct view of the rear window from the driver's seat and it fits snugly on the right rear window. Installed exactly as instructed. My wife and I adjusted and moved it a bit to get a better idea of what it's raising, and it opens up space right in front of and below the window, up to the bumper, and also about 3 feet or so on each side. I still have to get used to it after one ride, but I'm glad I have it…

Stock sale is not always half as good ^_^

I have ordered 11x14 twice. Both used Amazon Warehouse Deals. The first is very good, there are almost no traces of operation. The second was clearly used and the material proved humiliating but serviceable. Therefore, we have a good chance of getting a not-so-good item if we order used from the Amazon warehouse. This product serves that purpose very well. During the day I like to answer this mirror. In the evening or in the dark, I look at the rear camera screen instead. A good product that…

Helps a lot to see behind my small camper

There are several brands of these wide angle lenses on the market. This is a better quality cipa than most. It is easy to install and complements the reversing camera in my motorhome perfectly. The rear camera is a standard Sprinter, focusing nearly 4 feet just behind the bumper. You can hitch a trailer with it, but it's useless to see if there's a small car hiding in the back, not visible in the wing mirrors, a little further than 4ft. This wide-angle lens ensures that the driver can see much…

Be careful when using this lens

I bought this lens for the rear window of my car. I put one on each side hoping to see left and right of the car when pulling out of tight parking spots. It didn't work, but it's not the fault of the lenses. This is the tilt of the rear window. The car is a sedan and the rear window is steeply sloped, causing the image seen in the lenses to be very flattened vertically. The image is so compressed vertically that I can't see what's inside. The lesson is to use these lenses with fairly vertical…

Pros
  • Can be washed with mild detergent and water
Cons
  • It's ok

I use this for a different purpose than most people. I have a 5 wheel trailer that I tow with an F250 crew cab pickup. Due to the double cab layout, I can't see the fifth wheel on the bed of my truck, so I had to get in and out of the fifth wheel several times to make sure I lined up with the fifth wheel's spigot. Some of the higher fairings on my truck have cameras to hook up trailers, but mine doesn't and I didn't want to install an expensive camera system. I wasn't sure if I would see my…

Almost as good as a backup camera

We built a Class B RV on the back of a Chevy Express van and it was always difficult to reverse because you were bad sees what's right behind you. The rear door windows don't offer much visibility. On the recommendation of another, I decided to try the Fresnel lens. I attached this 8x10 Fresnel lens to the bottom inside corner of the driver's side liftgate window. It goes in the window, not out. Installation was easy. Simply clean the glass and then spray with water to keep it evenly wet. Then…

Pros
  • Eliminates blind spots and improves safety
Cons
  • Boring packaging

We have had one of these Fresnel lenses before and are still very happy with them. We've used it in a nearly 20ft van for years and are now using it in a much shorter SUV. This time we needed a second lens for a slightly shorter van, but for now we've decided to buy this smaller version (8" x 6"). The van for this second Fresnel lens is several feet shorter than the original van mentioned earlier. The reason for choosing this smaller size is that when you go to the next size (12" x 8") you get…
