I will never buy a refurbished one again

/me sighs: I finally have a good Interwebz again. With two computers and a neighbor with poor wifi, I was only able to get a good connection on one computer. I was fed up so ordered what I've had plenty of experience with in the past, I've had about 4 of these before. I use a lot of BitTorrent traffic to download and download various -nix distros and other FOSS and CC files and every other router I've ever tried crashed after about 5 minutes of BT traffic. The BEFSR41 is my personal favoriteโ€ฆ

Incredible Router - Router

After finally subscribing to DSL in January 2001, I decided on a router that could work with PPPOE since the PPPOE program I was using had no features and a huge amount of port scanning had hackers. My computer distracted me from my usual computer work. A few port scans aren't bad, but when my firewall kept going haywire with alerts and alerts, I decided I'd had enough. The router has a built-in basic firewall that blocks most basic scans. However, make sure you enter a LARGE password on theโ€ฆ

Preferably. Product. Is always!

If you want to network computers for file sharing and networking. If you are short on time and money. If you're afraid to ask your geek friends for help, then this product is for you! I bought this device around November 2000 despite my geek friend taunting me, humiliating me and criticizing my "stupid purchase". I'd say this is the only time I've been right and I've been using Linksys ever since. Why change proxy software every few months and/or face constant updates (not to mention a waste of

Excellent features, pathetic documentation, non-existent svc

I've been using the router for more than a month, I've managed to get comfortable with it, it's manual and there are enough service people to comment make or two per unit. First let me say that for the price you can't touch it. Whatever its flaws (and it certainly is), there's nothing for [money] that does what it *could* do or does the same thing. If you just need to share a DSL or cable modem connection between multiple computers, this is the only game in town at this price point. this mustโ€ฆ

Wow! Connecting computers couldn't be easier!

I don't normally write reviews, but I liked the Linksys BEFSR41 Cable/DSL Router so much that I had to take the time to share my thoughts. poor modem performance, busy signals, and the relatively high cost of modem-based Internet services. Broadband with Linksys is as good as it gets. Plug it in and it works right out of the box, but with practice you should be able to get the Linksys BEFSR41 to work wonders! The incoming cable from the cable company connects to the cable modem provided by your

Great well built router/switch!

I have to admit that I bought this router not only for its functionality but also for its looks. This is a very nice device. The lights on the front proved very useful and make for a nice light show too! No other router has as many lightbulbs as this little one! I think I would have preferred a flat top to make it easier for me to put other things on top, but I'm picky. Installation was easy for me after updating to the latest firmware. Routers sold now already have the latest firmware, soโ€ฆ

Excellent, easy to install and use, even for INTERNATIONAL users

Hello, I live in Santiago de Chile, here in South America. I have a DSL connection from the first local company that offers DSL here. I was afraid that this router has some US specifics. But I bought it, I installed it here and it's PERFECT. Truly unbelievable. So if any non-US user wants to get this Babyu, fear not, as long as it works in Chile, it will work everywhere! :) I'm using it with a NOKIA (M51) car for DSL, my phone company is here in Chile, [.] PROS: ----- - Very easy to set up.โ€ฆ
