The panel comes with (it seems) high strength adhesive on the back. The finish is nice, semi-gloss black on soft metal - as my AC broke in two I also added a screw through the face piece for extra strength. The cutouts and hole placement are near perfect. Good thing to save your old air conditioner.

I would give it a higher rating because it's made out of fairly thick steel and seems to work great. However, the product I received is slightly damaged, the inside is painted but the other side is not, and there is 3M tape on the front. I'm only going to get it working because I don't have time to return it and wait for a new one, but it sucks that I have to paint it now.

Very well made. Well thought through. Installs easily. I didn't have to completely remove the control module; just loosened 4 screws so it fell out in front; new front panel installed. Because the panel is on the front of the control panel, the control button is a little further into the dashboard; not so easy to grasp, and more shadows are thrown around. A minor thing, but before buying it I thought it was attached to the back. I would buy another one and it sold out quickly.

This is a fairly simple and straight forward item. The metal used is not particularly strong. So, if you don't properly repair the front of the air conditioner before installing it, most likely this item won't work for very long. For the same reason, please handle the item with care before installation as it bends and deforms very easily and requires time and effort to loosen before it can be used (ask me how I know).

This is a very suitable solution to the very popular air conditioning failure on the 88-91 CRX. Over time, the unit's weight will take its toll on the two weakest parts of the air conditioner's plastic bracket. And one click. Rather than shelling out $100-$300 for another used air conditioner (can go anytime), I decided to give this one a try.
