Appears to be as described. It just didn't work for me so I sent it back. I think maybe the measurements I had were wrong, but I didn't realize it at the time. If it ever comes with a 1.5" bore for a good price I'll give it another try. The only potential problem with prolonged use would be scratches and maybe rust?

I am using this on an old office chair that has its lift mechanism completely destroyed. It prevents the inner metal shaft from slipping through the hole in the base. It's not the prettiest solution, but it's cheaper than buying a new chair or a new lift. The downside, of course, is that it's not very convenient to adjust the height, but the fixed height suits me.

However, the collar is very well made and is a great example of adapting modern technology to holistic treatments. It will likely take some practice to put the collar on to avoid pinching
