It works well. I have an old RX100 with a grip very much like the Sony product, made in England by Richard Franiec, now retired. I have this grippie on my RX100 M5. The best thing about this grip is it helps me distinguish the two cameras from each other. :+) I'd probably go with the cheaper Sony grip, if doing it again, because I don't really need the added stability provided. If I shot a lot of video, it might be worthwhile. But it is a well-made, high quality item.

Yes, it's expensive, but you get what you pay for. It has a very solid feel, just like it came attached to the camera. Follow the directions carefully to get the perfect fit. You get a second double back strip to reapply when / if the initial one wears out. Well I have been looking for a grip for my Sony RX100IV, and have tried many and NONE are as good as this one! Reasons why is the quality of the metal very smooth and light but the most important reason is it slides down giving my hand that are not small but not really big a great grip!
