Can't even make a hole.

Got these bits because I needed to drill some holes in the computer case for water cooling. The manufacturer said the body was aluminum so I figured these bits would work. Not even a hole was drilled in the case. I ended up using a dremel to finish the job. I will send these back as soon as possible.

Junk Junk Junk in Step Drill

Do not believe the good reviews. They are extremely low quality. They are worse than Harbor step drills. I tried drilling holes in thin metal and they broke. This is a cheap mold, not real high quality steel. You just can't trust Amazon's rating system. By the way, I work with metal, so I'm not a beginner. Trust me, they're cheap for a reason.

Handy in an emergency! in Cutting Tools

I ordered these in the middle of summer during the workshop overhaul due to the pandemic. A few months later I actually needed one of these bits (there are so many options in this set) to widen the TV's mounting holes, as screw diameters on the back of LCD TVs seem to have changed over the last decade. The bit chewed through 1/8" steel plates without worrying about slipping or scratching. Now I like the strength of these bits.

Rocking bolt hole drills.

These drills are cool! Using a smaller diameter drill bit, I made a hole and then enlarged it. Ideal for drilling bolt holes in the galvanized steel rods I use to hang shade sails with cord hangers and brackets. Use lubricating oil to prevent the drill from grabbing or twisting your wrist. The punch is also effective for doing a bit of etching to start drilling. You can't drill without it. I highly recommend this set!

Great for what I needed them for

I am making a button box for sim racing and they fit perfectly in the plastic junction box. They had some black foam from the case stuck to the Beats, but that comes off. That's why I gave it 4/5 stars - I didn't have to clean or scrape the parts, but in the end it wasn't a deal breaker. The hole punch worked great on plastic - didn't even need to use a smaller drill bit - just punch a hole and you're done.

Good Stuff - Cutting Tools

I have used these drills for plastic and metal. Both seem to go really well with these beats. That happens pretty quickly, just think of the oil on the metal! I don't know how long they will last but I haven't seen any wear in the few uses I've used them for. The punch was a nice addition. It's very useful for various applications and to be honest I've used it more than just bits so far. The spring-loaded punch is great for marking drill bits, especially when approaching from odd or awkward…

Won't cut more than 1/2 " at home

Largest 3 bits failed after 1/2". Not sure if they aren't sharpened or just poorly made. I was trying to drill a 5/8" diameter hole in 1/8" mild steel at 330 RPM on my drill press using cutting fluid. On my first try, I mistakenly thought I hadn't adjusted the depth gauge because it was hitting a wall in 1/2" increments. I switched to another bit and another with the same results. Absolute bullshit, and now I'm at a loss I made a mistake trying to save a few bucks and I paid the price to run…

It took forever to cut through a stainless steel sink

Product descriptions and pictures are deceiving. These beats are not good at all. I had to drill 3 holes in a new stainless steel sink. The drill was fine until it was reduced to 7/8, after which it immediately dulled. After that, he just rolled and smoked without much progress. I almost burned the motor in my drill press. After 30 minutes of drilling I finally got through 1 1/8 which was just what I needed. Incidentally, the smaller bit also became blunt after 3 rings. Yes, I used machine oil…
