Plugs don't work! see Accessories & Consumables

I decided to purchase this cable rather than buying a bulk cable and connecting my own connectors. When I received the cable I did a bench test by placing a 50 ohm load on one end, plugging the other end into my antenna analyzer and wiggling the connectors. When I did that, the SWR jumped on both jacks. Not at all suitable for amateur radio work. I cut the connectors, solder my connectors. I tested cable and SWR 1:1 with a load of 50 ohms. I would not recommend this cable to any radio amateur.

Good quality RG-8X coaxial cable.

I checked the cable upon receipt and found no obvious defects or problems. I'm replacing a cable at a ham radio station. The old cable is 15 years old and has seen its best days. I figured this cable was enough to buy 2 more 50ft lengths for my 2 new and 3 other refurbished antennas. I bought Steren cables. All RG-8X. I threw away almost every old RG-58A I had, except for one section that looked brand new and was jumper friendly. I am happy with my purchases. Many Thanks. I would buy again.

Good and Bad - Cables & Connectors

I bought the second one after successfully ordering the one I ordered previously. Both worked well and the price is right. But after just a few weeks, the plug broke off on the second. I took good care of it. On the other hand, I now see that the center conductor and braid are copper. Another reviewer said their copy doesn't look like copper, but this one is definitely copper. I'll probably use the broken direct solder antenna in a future project. Given the low price and copper construction, I…
