Reliable space saver

So far this has withstood the abuse my normal search and rescue gear is put through by being thrown into my gearbox with heartless disrespect. When folded, they are a great space saver. I can't answer the taste of the water as these containers are for K9 cooling and decontamination, not drinking water as we use them anyway.

Pros
  • A few competitors
Cons
  • Something different

Easy to use. Perfect for camping

Use it to store water so we have a wash station at our campsite. Also that the spout is in a corner and you can turn it in the desired direction. We put it on a big rock and turn the spout down and it works great. Hard cases are way better than those plastic bags that can't stand up properly.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Water tastes like plastic even after washing and multiple uses

Label says BPA free but I doubt it. I washed and soaked it at least a day before actually using it. Then used twice with filtered water but the smell and taste of the plastic makes it impossible to drink. In addition, the bad water spout could easily open during transport and make a mess in the car. Don't waste your money

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • So far so good

Do Not Recommend

I have two Stansport Outdoor 291 2 Gallon Expand-A-Jug water tanks that have held up well for several years. I recently switched to a different one but bought a Coghlan 2 gallon expandable water carrier instead because it's cheaper than the Stansport brand. After the first filling of the Coghlan water carrier, it immediately flowed through the shut-off valve. After trying to find the cause of the leak I threw it away, ordered a Stansport and after a few days of use there is no leak.

  • Great Price
Cons

Sturdy and comfortable

Its width is approximately 3 inches empty and 8 inches full. Pretty cool. It won't stand upright or on the edges - too wobbly. So lay it horizontally on the flat side. The spring works perfectly. The plastic seems very durable. When folded, it is very useful for saving space. Also, 2 gallons of water is about 16 pounds, so those with slightly less strength or hand/arm/shoulder issues can probably carry it. I know, I know, you could just fill a 5 gallon container 40% full for the same weight…

  • Very good value for money

Disappointing on Sports Water Bottles

I was very excited when I saw this product. I play different sports with my dogs and always make sure that there is enough water for them. In the past I've used 1-2 gallon plastic bottles that were previously filled with milk, orange juice, or soda, but these bottles are becoming brittle and start to leak after a short while. This water carrier seemed to be the answer to my prayers. Firstly, it wasn't as complete as it seems in the picture. Secondly, while lying prone, he had a slow cap leak…

Perfect for certain situations

I've had one of these for over twenty years but somehow managed to lose it so I had no hesitation in ordering a replacement. Please understand that they are not suitable for some purposes as the container takes on an awkward shape when filled and does not hold well when filled when loaded with other cargo. There are other designs better suited to carrying your only water supply for a weekend hike. You need a hard container for something like that. Where this pitcher shines is in the unique…

Best of Multiple Variables

This rating is based on my experience with this water carrier over the past few years. I rented one from a canoe vendor in northern Minnesota for a BWCA canoe trip. Haven't used this particular one I bought from Revain yet, will be using this summer. But I've used this particular model on a number of occasions. This is a great water tank for easy use around the country. When empty, it is as thick as a paper book and about the size of a newspaper square. and can slide along the inner wall of…
