What a disappointment. I don't understand why they have so many rave reviews. A salt shaker cannot contain salt, no matter the size. It only pours from below. I took it apart and reassembled it and checked the alignment of the moving parts. It helped a little. Then, about three months later, the pepper mill began to fail. Good quality coffee grinders. I tried the style that usually shows up in search results here (tall glass with a metal grinding mechanism on top) and they didn't fit me at all. These mechanisms are also not metal, but plastic with a thin metal outer coating. Only these grinders from Cole & Mason work reliably. I have had this grinder for over 20 years. It worked great all along until I dropped it too many times (which has happened many times in 20 years) and a key piece of plastic broke off.
