I use this with a Merkur Model 180 long handled safety razor and a Tweezerman men's shaving brush. I love how it looks in my bathroom and it holds both my brush and razor perfectly. You should not store your brushes on their side or on top as they will not dry properly. This is why this stand is important to allow the brush to dry and store properly. I would have preferred a nickel or satin nickel finish to match my bathroom decor but the price was tempting. I find no flaws in the fit, finish or stand, just the right size and the weighted base keeps it in place even with the safety razor and brush in the holder. as well as upright and in various styles - after all, I'm all about functionality and not making a style statement with my shaving set, so this fits the bill.
