Best Snowshoes: my feedback

I’ve had a pair of Tubbs for more than 20 years. I have put hundreds of miles on my pair. I use them in steep terrain and many years ago one of the bindings broke. Tubbs over nighted a replacement. Such an awesome company.

Pros
  • Love these; easy to attach and detach; easy to walk in.
Cons
  • The Tubbs Women's Flex RDG Snowshoe is designed for recreational hiking and walking in the snow, so it may not perform as well on more challenging terrain

Super-dee-duper for ordinary use.

Great on trails or semi-groomed areas. They are good for most all weights BUT not great for deep, fresh snow if. You are on the heavier side. I know some of the recommendations say the weight limit is somewhere d 170lbs under load, but Tubbs website indicates there is no true weight limit - but probably if you expect to be in deep snow the 170lb limit is more accurate. The great things are they are very light weight themselves and have wonderful traction/grippers and I have yet to slip using…

Pros
  • So easy to put on & take off.
Cons
  • The snowshoes are relatively heavy, which could lead to fatigue and discomfort during long hikes or trekking in deep snow

Best snowshoes ever!

These snowshoes are amazing. I live in Alaska and I've used them in seriously deep snow, icy packed trails, and uphill terrain. They out perform in all areas. I'm over the weight limit for these but they keep me afloat. The low profile keeps me from tripping over and stepping on them. The traction rails are a real life saver and keep you from sliding sideways down slopes. I've only had to use the heel lift once and it was awkward getting it up and down but will be easier with practice. The BOA…

Pros
  • Locks down tight on your shoe. Lift protects your Achilles if you hike in them.
Cons
  • Price: This product is priced higher than other snowshoes on the market, which may not be ideal for customers looking for a more affordable option

Unfortunately, the fragile wires around the binding look as though they will break with the slightest pressure leaving you stranded. The return is difficult as UPS stores do not have associates to assist with a label or shipping. Be sure to review the product and return before purchasing. The show is attractive and looks like a great shoe, but the tiny wires and difficult return process are not worth the 200.00.

Pros
  • Love these snowshoes. Easy to use. Great fit. Would buy again.
Cons
  • Returned for straps did not go back far enough to fit my size 10.5 boots.

Runs very small good for me

Maybe I ordered a size too small. I am 5'8' , 139 LBS so I thought for casual back yard use these would work. Unfortunately I cannot a boot or even shoe into the bindings - I am a size 9. This feels more like for kids. They seem to be made well - loved the binding mechanism, so the 3 stars is just cuz they are very small.

Pros
  • I love them. It’s super easy to put them on and you feel totally secure.
Cons
  • The Tubbs Women's Flex RDG Snowshoe comes in limited sizes, which could be a downside for women who need a specific size for a comfortable fit
