I bought this bottle based on the rave reviews and as soon as I received it I immediately went through the return process. Terrible top design, impossible to keep clean and I guarantee it will bring up all sorts of junk. You can't even get a toothbrush out there to clean it. The whole thing is an intricate spring top opening. If you need it, just keep it clean and hygienic!

I wasn't thinking about car cup holders when I bought this, just thinking about hydration and that the previous Contigo I lost only held 24 ounces has, and I ended up in the end It's fast every day. This one holds 8 more ounces but doesn't fit in my car cup holder so it sits on the seat. It's a great bottle, but if it were 1/4 inch thinner it would fit and would probably only be 1 inch taller. just a thought

I gave 4 stars to be clear about what I am. It does almost everything I expected. However, there is a surprise factor that no one seems to be paying attention to. The mouthpiece you drink from is difficult to clean, I just poured water (cold) into this bottle. Because the soft plastic that creates the auto-seal effect is always behind a hard-shell cover, if you're careful when you press the button to drink, you'll discolor so badly that it looks like mold to me. I usually love Contigo, but this product just doesn't get me hot. Lid (as long as it's dishwasher safe), my family doesn't use it. As a result, it's almost impossible (and easy) to scrape the inside of the lid to rid it of mold. Simply filling the top with soapy water will not wash away any mold that has grown and become lodged inside. Also, with plastic inside, it's hard to tell if your lid is clean or dirty in the lid mechanisms and behind all the plastic inside. 3 stars for doing a good job…

From the start I noticed that after a few days in a mug the water tasted like mold. Sometimes even mold flakes appear. Flushing doesn't help because the cover isn't cleanable. I soaked the lid in a solution of vinegar and/or bleach. The mold went away for a few days and then returned. I use a stainless steel Contigo water bottle every day. I've had my current one for years and finally decided to replace it because the inside floor isn't clean even though I've only ever had water in it. My current one will still have ice in 24 hours. I love it! I never have to change ice during the day. Put it on ice and have more the next day - cool! This new one is not like that! It's the same model just a different color but I put ice on it and after a few hours it's gone! What's happening
