We bought blackout shades from a big box Swedish company for our boys’ bedroom and these for our room. These were the more expensive of the two pairs. We live near a shipyard, so it is NEVER dark at night - the birds are up chirping at 1 and 2 am! So blackout shades were essential. I bought the white blackout shades for my bedroom, and they do what I needed them to do. A couple of things I wish I'd known:The white looks a little gray because of the blackout lining. It does a good job of keeping out the light though. Some comes it around the edges, but I haven't found a blackout shade yet that doesn't do that.If you're doing an inside mount, you need about 1 1/8" minimum depth for the mounting hardware. I was really nervous about buying blinds online and hoping I had measured the right way for installing them with ease. I couldn’t be happier! These came nicely packaged, and I installed each blind in like 3 minutes. I installed the blinds on the inside of the wooden window frame. It does block a lot do the lights. Light escape through the edges but that doesn't bother us. It blocks out enough light for us to sleep in and it does it job. The pull up and down is easy and it was really easy to install. I'm so glad I didn't pay anyone to come install it. UPDATE (April 2020): The strange odor is gone! Took about a month or so. Blinds are holding up well, but its a room not used very much (especially these days).Bought these for a southwest facing bedroom that was always 15-20 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. Pretty disappointed, broke in 2 months. Have contacted seller and not yet heard on warranty. Internal system for blinds is flimsy and strings snappedUpdating this review I was able to work with the seller to get a replacement shipped so will see how that goes

It worked really well for a few months until today, it suddenly stopped working.The blinds won’t go up! Spending over 60 dollars for blinds that will last a few months its so not worth it!

Installed on the outside of window frame in bathroom. Very easy. Forgot to check the blinds were level and had to drill new holes. The pull up and down feature is great. Used this type of blind due to bathroom moisture and avoiding mold. So far so good as the "cells” allow for air flow.

I'm someone who needs the room DARK to sleep, so getting the right blackout curtain was important to me! This one fits the bill so admirably I'm buying another for a different window.
