This product is well suited for whole kernel production. When using a knife, you usually cut the seeds off the cob. This way you get whole kernels. It might take a little longer than slicing the beans with a knife, but it works.

I bought one of these a few years ago and laid out sacks of fresh candy corn over the summer. In fact, I liked them so much that I bought a few more to give as gifts. This is the BEST way to peel corn from the cob. Every cook needs one of these little gadgets!

Choose this model over a curved corn sheller. I ordered two sets. I don't have the strength to hold him down. He's very sharp. I will again use a cake pan upside down and cut with a knife.

They are difficult to use when removing corn as they are slippery and difficult to slide over the cobs. I wish they had a rough texture or some kind of lever handle! Doesn't work on every ear of corn as the size of the inner blade doesn't change. If the ear is too large in diameter, they cannot be used.

So it's definitely easy to use when you find you need to cut the cobs in half before cooking. Also, you need to get pretty small corn on the cob because big ones won't fit. Having worked on those two things, it's very durable, easy to use and quick to clean - and it looks like it could (already) be washed in the dishwasher. I will definitely keep using it and highly recommend it if you regularly enjoy corn on the cob 🌽 but don't like silk getting stuck in your teeth.
